Empowering individuals
to tap into their inner teacher

About Kate

Trained originally in the Ashtanga Vinyasa style at It’s Yoga, Kate Sosnowski’s teaching has grown to include pre and postnatal yoga, yoga for students with unique needs such as physical, developmental and cognitive, restorative yoga, flow, hatha and pilates. Kate led a mindfulness and yoga program in the San Francisco Unified School District for 10 years and directed Kid’s Yoga teacher trainings all over the country. Her goal for all of her students is to foster a connection between their own body, breath and mind while empowering them to tap into their inner teacher.

Kate holds a California Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential as well as multiple certificates from various Yoga teacher trainings. She creates a safe, light-hearted space for all of her students with mindful sequencing and thoughtful movement.

With her husband and three wonderfully wild boys by her side, Kate loves to hike, wander the coast, run along the ocean and attend as many live concerts as possible.

Client Reviews

I started doing yoga with Kate a few months ago.  It has been a fantastic addition to my holistic menu to help with the side effects of my treatment for cancer. She spends the time to see how I’m doing and alters the lesson accordingly.  She has a very calm voice that helps me relax but don’t let her fool you, I feel like I have had a good workout. At the end I am completely rejuvenated and ready to take on the day!

Kate has been working with my daughter Jasmine for the past 10 years. As a parent of an adult with Autism, Kate allows and expresses great compassion towards Jasmine by giving her tools she needs to journey inside herself and connect with a calm, peaceful loving and safe place.

Yoga is for everyBODY, and Kate truly understands this sentiment while working with the adults with disabilities at our Day Program. Not only does Kate take special care to adapt poses based on each student’s physical needs and abilities, but she helps each adult develop a new-found mental awareness of the way their bodies move and use energy, ensuring everyone feels completely comfortable with their own unique practice. When our students end their class chanting “OM” in unison, you can feel how the classroom environment has changed, allowing everyone to continue on with their day with a calm and clearly defined purpose.
